I bought this card because I wanted to connect a dual core PC to my TV and make it a media center. It had to decode Blue-Ray and be silent. Until then, I was using a PS3 and was very happy with the Blue-Ray output but I needed access to Hulu without using software such as PlayOn. I was skeptical that I could get the same quality from a computer, especially because I had tried to play blue-ray discs using the built-in graphics card and the quality was way lower than the PS3. I was so happy to see that this card output is as good as the one from Playstation 3. Using the HDMI connection to my receiver and then to my Sony Bravia 52-inch HDTV I got 7.1 sound and stunning 1080p resolution. Without any special setup it rerouted video and sound to HDMI.

Best of all, my computer continues to be silent, my wife finds it very to use Windows 7 Media Center, you can watch Hulu without any work around.

CONS: Not great for high-end video games.
PROS: Great video... Read more

I put this in a computer with an AMD Athlon II X4 processor along with 6gb of RAM. My monitor is actually a 120Hz 1080p Vizio TV. This machine runs Fallout 3 and Oblivion flawlessly with no lag at the highest settings. I am able to play the games up to 1920x1080 and the games are still perfect with no lag. These are the only PC games I've played on it so if that can give anyone who wants to buy this some idea of what it can handle in what type of system. The only important thing I think people should know is that if you are putting this in a desktop and using the HDMI, it may scale back the image about 15%. I always wondered about it because even plugging in my laptop to my TV I always had a black box around the outside. To fix that just go into the Catalyst Control Center and set your scaling to 0 and the black edge will go away. I'm not sure what area it is under but as long as you remember its the scaling, you can Google it and find out how to set it. That was the only issue I ran... Read more

This replaced a HD 4850 in my Home Theater PC so I could take advantage of its Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD bitstreaming, and it works perfectly. The fact that it doesn't require a fan is another bonus. I get a crisp 1080p picture on my 52-inch Samsung LCD. I'm not using this PC for gaming, so it suits my needs perfectly -- but that could be a factor for others.
