4.0 out of 5 stars Great for an entry level card; modest gaming only!, June 7, 2011
This review is from: Sapphire Radeon HD 6570 1 GB DDR3 HDMI/DVI-D/VGA PCI-Express Graphics Card 100323L (Personal Computers)
I actually bought this card for a small form factor PC. Though this card is not technically a SFF/low profile card, a simple non-permanent mod will allow one to use it in SFF PCs. It's too bad it didn't come with a SFF bracket, because otherwise it fits fine. I would have perhaps bought a more powerful card but was limited with the a) SFF, b) power usage - I only have a 280W PSU and a more powerful card would have caused problems. I have not yet encountered any situations where I ran into problems with the 6570.

Performance-wise, while this is a DX11 card, it is clearly entry level but way better than my PC's integrated gfx. It allows some modern games at low/medium settings. As of June 2011 it gets 6.5 on the Windows Experience Index. According to other reviews, it performs as well or a bit better than the HD 5570.

EDIT:
My review of the card is below, my review of the "rebate" is right here: The rebate is worthless. They send you an American Express card that is usable almost nowhere. I tried to use it three different places and online -- it was declined each place, and $1 was removed from the balance every time it was declined. So I just threw it out, total waste.

Review of card follows, BSOD information at bottom:

Easy to install, was detected by Windows but needed the included CD to properly load the AMD Vision Control Center. Has some pretty amazing settings in its control engine, including the ability to stretch your desktop over multiple monitors and/or create a grid on the monitors where applications open into various areas of the screen. Very interesting.

Was an upgrade from integrated graphics. I have two monitors, one plugged into the DVI port and the other plugged into the VGA port, no problems. Will play 1080p on both at the same time... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great card for HTPC & Light Gaming, January 16, 2012

This review is from: Sapphire Radeon HD 6570 1 GB DDR3 HDMI/DVI-D/VGA PCI-Express Graphics Card 100323L (Personal Computers)
I purchased this graphics card to help update my SFF HTPC. I was very worried if this would run as I only have a 220W PSU. I plugged in the card, worked like a charm from the second I fired up the PC. Windows and BIOS automatically disabled my existing integrated GeForce 9200 GPU. Card runs cool and does not heat soak other components, even in my slimline case (does thankfully have a vent right where this cards fan is placed). I've been able to get some modern games to play at very reasonable frame rates and medium to high settings depending on the game. Examples of what I've been able to play are rFactor 2 Beta, Project C.A.R.S. Beta, Need For Speed Shift 2, Starcraft 2, and Crysis 2. When I have done my light gaming I do turn the fan speed up and I have yet to see a temp over 58 celcius in stretches of about 2 hours at a time. Playing Blu-ray and streaming 1080p video seems to have much less lags and is much sharper than the integrated GPU. Have been using the card heavily for about... Read more
